The Pay

This is a paid internship. You will be making $18.00/hour

Intern Overview

Gunwerks' internship program provides opportunities for students who want to gain hands-on practical experience and develop new or expanded applications for their academic and professional interests. Our internship program offers you hands-on involvement in your field in a real-world work environment in Cody, Wyoming.

The Details

What you will be doing

  • Here are the main responsibilities/qualifications expected of a summer intern: 

    Responsibilities:
    • Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to design new products and fixtures
    • Develop engineering drawings and specifications for consumer products using advanced drafting practices for manufacturing
    • Make samples of working models for demonstrations with basic manual shop equipment or working with the R&D machinist 
    • Work with product engineers to validate and test prototypes 
    • Support general needs of the engineering department 
    Qualifications: 
    • Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering program from an ABET accredited University 
    • Experience with 3D modeling and 2D CAD design 
    • Familiarity with CNC machining and other commonly used manufacturing processes 
    • Familiarity with operating firearms and safe handling practices 

Eligibility - Deadline - Dates of Internship

  • Qualified upper-level undergraduate students and graduate students who are enrolled in trade schools, colleges and universities are eligible to apply (16-24 years old). This internship is funded by a grant, so specific qualifications need to be met.
