  • Compensation: $20-$30 /hr

What You’ll Be Doing as a CNC Machine Operator:

  • Operate and manage CNC machines (lathes, mills) to produce precision components according to engineering specifications.
  • Interpret and accurately apply work orders and engineering drawings to ensure part accuracy.
  • Set up and verify tooling and fixtures, ensuring they align with CNC programs and shop documents.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks on machined parts using measuring tools and techniques.
  • Maintain detailed production records and utilize the ERP system for tracking work orders and data.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Proactively identify and report any quality or equipment issues to the CNC Lathe or Mill Lead.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.

Skills and Experience You’ll Need as a CNC Machine Operator:

For Entry-Level:

  • Basic experience operating CNC machines (lathes, mills) in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in using common measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
  • Basic understanding of CNC machine setup procedures.
  • Ability to perform routine machine maintenance tasks.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures.
  • Ability to independently perform daily machine checks.

For Advanced-Level:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) operating complex CNC machines (lathes, mills) with tight tolerances.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and quality control equipment (CMM).
  • Solid understanding of CNC programming (G-code) and machine setup procedures.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems for data entry and work order tracking.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex machine issues and perform advanced maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and mentor less experienced operators.
  • Ability to independently adjust tool offsets to maintain tight tolerances and optimize production.
