have time to waste. LRU’s curated L1-3 courses organize foundational

skills into a progressive, simplified system. Learn what matters most,

when it matters most, and get back to the hunt faster.

The Gunwerks Long Range University L1 course lays the groundwork for precision shooting, teaching equipment selection, ballistics, and core techniques. Using Gunwerks rifles (typically 6.5 Creedmoor), students master bench shooting, shooter/spotter teamwork, and trajectory validation to 1,000 yards. Learn internal/external ballistics, bore maintenance, and ethical hunting principles to ensure first-round hits.

L2 elevates your skills with advanced ballistics and wind compensation for complex conditions. Master wind reading with tools like wind meters and environmental cues, and tackle factors like air density, spin drift, and Coriolis effect. Practice field positions and supports to extend range with Gunwerks rifles and smart rangefinders, gaining confidence for precise, ethical shots under pressure.

L3, the capstone course, applies L1/L2 skills in real-world mountain hunting scenarios. Bring your rifle to test your system—marksmanship, ballistics, and environmental compensation—in the rugged terrain of our Sheep Mountain facility. Hone quick, ethical shot decisions under pressure, mastering dynamic conditions for long-range hunting success.
